My own draw knife finally arrived on Saturday and work began on the laths and paddle.

Sun 24 Aug. For an entire day I did this, we now have 4 finished laths, each 8ft long and 4mm thick...my arms ache! After I finished the fourth, we began cleeving more wood, but they all split against us , so we have decided to go to Shin on Monday and collect some Hazel, which we can then draw knife without cleeving.
Moday 25 Aug. Hunt for the Hazel...not as easy as we had anticipated at the Falls of Shin, but we got some eventually.
