We Love Boxes!

Nathale and Alison crawling through their tunnel labyrinth.

As a result of Timespan's refurbishment, we had a pile of the most fantastic boxes at our disposal. Rather than let them go to waste, the youth arts group used the boxes among an aray of other recycled materials to explore, space and structure.

Matreials:
9 x chair boxes
4 x egg crates
6 x table boxes
1 x Enormouse sheet of weed surpressant material
Foam corner protectors
Bubble wrap
Tarpaulin sheeting

They were given three tasks, each to completed in 5-10 mins
1. Create the tallest structure that you can, using all nine of the carboard boxes.
2. Ceate a structure that will support the weight of the whole group.
3. Create a structure, using all the materials in the room, that will allow you all to move around the entire workshop space, unseen!

The group then designed their own mythical creature and created a habitat to suit its need from the materials in the workshop.

Flying Monkey. It lives in the sky. You can only reach Monkey Henge by travelling through the moutains. Monkeyhenge is protected by snappers. The monkey has a thrid eye in its stomach, eats clouds and birds and lives in the arch above the ceremonial tree.
